Auckland Covid Level 2 Announcement

SQNZ Covid-19 update: 5th March 2021

Good Afternoon all,

 

Following the announcement from the New Zealand Government all of Auckland will be moving down to Alert Level 2, and the rest of New Zealand moving to Level 1 as of 6:00am Sunday (7th March 2021)

Auckland

With the Alert level moving to level 2 6am Sunday, the following Squash NZ recommendations are in place in guidance with the NZ Government guidelines.

  • All events & competitions should be risk assessed and reviewed to determine if they will proceed based on Government guidelines.
  • Assess whether to shut and suspend access to facilities based on your ability to:
    • Ensure that you can enforce no more than 100 people in the facility at one time
    • Ensure that no high-risk people enter the facility
    • Ensure you can meet contact tracing requirements
    • Ensure your facility has extensive signage and information regarding precautions for managing COVID-19
    • Ensure your facility has an up to date cleaning schedule & soap and hand sanitiser is available and is consistently refilled
    • Ensure the facility staff are properly briefed on all information regarding precautions for managing COVID-19
  • All Performance Squad / Programme Training should be risk assessed and reviewed to determine if they will proceed based on Government guidelines.
  • All workshops, face to face meetings and external activities should be risk assessed and reviewed to determine if they will proceed based on Government guidelines.
  • All staff and/or volunteers should work from home where possible

Reminder these changes to not take effect until 6am Sunday the 7th of March

 

New Zealand (apart from Auckland)

With the Alert Level in the rest of New Zealand lowering to Alert Level 1 6am Sunday, Squash clubs will be able to continue to stay open and the following Squash NZ recommendations are in place in guidance with the NZ Government guidelines.

  • Facilities can open but should follow recommendations listed below:
    • Ensure the COVID-19 tracker QR code is visible for members.
    • Ensure your facility has extensive signage and information regarding precautions for managing COVID-19
    • Ensure your facility has an up-to-date cleaning schedule & soap and hand sanitiser is available and is consistently refilled
    • Ensure the facility staff are properly briefed on all information regarding precautions for managing COVID-19
  • Tournament organisers should ensure they encourage good hygiene practices
