IMPORTANT: KRC Re-roofing

More exciting news for the Kumeu Racquets Club, as we are getting the final piece of the club re-roofing project done on the Badminton – Pickleball hall roof. Once finished this will mean the entire club will have been re-roofed and ready to tackle many more winters!

Scaffolding should be going up next week (the week 27th-31st May) around the badminton hall – so please be mindful of this if you are in the carpark area and move vehicles if required. The roofing product will be delivered to site and craned onto the roof on Friday 31st May – so please be respectful and mindful of the people involved while this is happening, (Big shoutout to Club member Steve Haines from Colorcote NZ for arranging the roofing and materials for the club at no cost).

The re-roof will start (weather permitting), on the 4th of June – so from Tuesday the 4th of June the carpark area will be closed to all members and their vehicles during daytime work hours to ensure the roofing contractors & your safety. We expect this work will take around 8-10 days – weather permitting but will try to make sure it is completed as soon as possible.

The site around the badminton hall will be deemed a construction site while the roofing contractors are onsite, there will be NO ACCESS into the badminton hall AT ANY TIME while this work is being done. When the works are completed, we will need to clean the dust & debris from the floor in the hall before any play resumes)

The Badminton Hall door will be locked with a padlock to ensure no one tries to enter it.

Once the roofers have left for the day, we will allow vehicles into the carpark in the evening for Squash business house, Squash club nights and Squash interclub etc  – this will ONLY BE ON THE SQUASH SIDE of the building and the carpark will be closed again that night ready for the roofers the following day.

This is a great project to have finally completed & moving forward towards a dry 100 year anniversary. This will ensure the club will have a completely new roof for many more years of playing.
